Columbia Southern University (CSU) will present the CSU Knights Run 5K on Saturday, May 7 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala.
The run, the first of its kind for CSU, will take place on the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail which is a paved path that winds through the Gulf State Park in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.
The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. There will be refreshments, sponsor booths and an awards ceremony followed by an after-party at the Sportsplex.
“The CSU Knights Run offers a thrilling day for runners and local businesses to come together to raise money for the USO of Northwest Florida,” said Amanda Manjone, director of Student and Alumni Engagement at CSU, who further commented that all proceeds from the race will benefit the USO. “We value greatly our commitment to the military and this event allows us to let them know we care.”
Manjone added that sponsorships are needed for the event and there are several levels to choose from. The early-bird race entry fee is $25 and includes a race shirt. The fee will be $30 after April 1 and $35 on the day of the Knights Run. Please note shirts may not be available for late entrants.
