Columbia Southern University congratulates 2016 graduate Patrick Mazza, of Corona, Calif., on winning an Academic Excellence Scholarship with the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Mazza, who earned an online bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health from Columbia Southern University, was very grateful for the $3,000 scholarship.
The NSLS is the nation's largest leadership honor society. Students are selected by their college for membership based on either academic standing or leadership potential.
Some of the criteria for the NSLS scholarship includes attendance or credit from at least one society event/meeting from fall 2016 and/or spring 2017 and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7. The senior safety manager graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Columbia Southern University, which he said has changed his life and career.
“My Columbia Southern University degree has opened a whole new world of opportunities for career growth and earning potential and prepared me for earning critical certifications and credentials that are vital to being set apart in the top percentage of those who work in my field,” Mazza explained.
He plans to use the scholarship funds to help cover tuition for his next degree with Columbia Southern University—a master’s in occupational safety and health.
Columbia Southern University offers online certificate, undergraduate and graduate degree programs in various fields such as occupational safety and health, fire administration, human resource management, criminal justice and business administration.
