International Society of Fire Service Instructors Extends Partnership with Columbia Southern University to Benefit Firefighters, Fire Instructors Through Higher Education

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – Columbia Southern University, a leader in first-responder education, recently partnered with the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) to allow ISFSI’s Training Officer Credentialing Program to be credited as two transfer credit hours toward a CSU’s degree program.
ISFSI strives to reduce firefighter fatalities and injuries increase firefighter safety and improve the profession overall through education and training. Leigh Hubbard, executive director of ISFSI, said she is thrilled with this articulation agreement.
“By offering two collegiate credit hours for the training officer credential course, we are not only elevating the professional standing of fire service instructors but also empowering our instructors to achieve greater academic success. This collaboration underscores our commitment to advancing education and leadership in the fire service community, and together, we are shaping the future of our industry."
ISFSI and CSU officially began their partnership back in 2012, when ISFSI became a Learning Partner with the university. Through its Learning Partnership, ISFSI members receive a 10% tuition discount and are eligible to apply for the Learning Partner Scholarship.
