Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Human Services program at Columbia Southern University prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary to critically assess social policies that impact organizational and community needs. This program equips students with skills essential to understanding human relations, social issues, ethics, organizational management, counseling techniques, and public policy. These foundational elements enable students to develop evidence-based solutions and skilled approaches to advocacy within the human services sector.

Students will utilize critical thinking and decision-making skills to better understand and meet human service needs in diverse communities and organizations, ensuring their actions uphold ethical standards. Additionally, students will hone effective professional interpersonal skills essential for engaging stakeholders and resolving organizational issues through informed decision-making.

Graduates will be empowered to assess existing socio-political issues, identify service needs, and implement strategies that foster social change and equity.

Multiple factors, including prior experience, geography and degree field, affect career outcomes. CSU does not guarantee a job, promotion, salary increase, eligibility for a position, or other career growth.
