Overview
Touted by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals as a Graduate Safety Practitioner® Qualified Academic Program, Columbia Southern University’s online B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health is taught by experts in the field, many of whom are involved in advancing the industry on a national scale. This degree program prepares students for career advancement into leadership positions in the safety field. The QAP designation allows graduates to apply for the Graduate Safety Practitioner® designation with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. This designation eliminates the need to sit for the Associate Safety Professional (ASP®) exam prior to taking the Certified Safety Professional (CSP®) exam.
CSU’s B.S. in occupational safety and health meets the educational requirements mandated by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals for the ASP® and the CSP®. This degree program is also board-approved through the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM).
This program is not designed to meet the educational requirements for a specific professional license or certification required for employment in an occupation.
Multiple factors, including prior experience, geography and degree field, affect career outcomes. CSU does not guarantee a job, promotion, salary increase, eligibility for a position, or other career growth.

Tuition Rates
Our goal is to provide the strongest online academic programs at an affordable rate. On average, our tuition is less than half the cost of our competitors.

*Rates are per credit hour. Most courses are three (3) credit hours. Tuition and fees are payable in U.S. funds. Tuition rates are subject to change. CSU’s tuition rate for associate, bachelor’s and master’s courses is $250 per credit hour for all active-duty military members using tuition assistance except those who are using a Learning Partner discount.
The lower rate is offered to keep the tuition rate at the DoD cap of $250.
† CSU Learning Partners receive a tuition discount that is applied to the full tuition rate.
