Overview
Columbia Southern University’s Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in Emergency Management equips students with advanced decision-making and leadership skills. Through a comprehensive application of theory and research, the program offers effective methods for solving complex industry challenges. Students have the opportunity to develop investigative skills and conduct data analysis, equipping them to contribute new insights to a particular industry segment. The Emergency Management concentration provides the foundation to tackle emergency management challenges and develop innovative strategies in a variety of organizations. Successful graduates will have the knowledge and skills to construct actionable recommendations that solve business problems within the emergency management discipline.
Doctoral Dissertation
Doctoral students are required to complete a dissertation and defend their research before a committee and University representatives, which may take place at a distance through audio/visual means. No degree shall be awarded without majority of committee approval. Information regarding this capstone doctoral requirement is published in the Dissertation Handbook.
Graduates will successfully complete a minimum of 61 credit hours and dissertation research courses as outlined below.

To satisfy the requirements of the Doctor of Business Administration, students must complete a minimum of 15 hours of dissertation/research hours. Doctor of Business Administration students should communicate regularly with their dissertation chair regarding the completion of these hours.

Our goal is to provide the strongest online academic programs at an affordable rate. On average, our tuition is less than half the cost of our competitors.

*Rates are per credit hour. Most courses are three (3) credit hours. Tuition and fees are payable in U.S. funds. Tuition rates are subject to change. CSU’s tuition rate for associate, bachelor’s and master’s courses is $250 per credit hour for all active-duty military members using tuition assistance except those who are using a Learning Partner discount.
The lower rate is offered to keep the tuition rate at the DoD cap of $250.
